The Booker Prize Challenge- days 3, 4, 5 & 6

I continue in my crazy quest to read all the books nominated on the long list for the booker prize.

On day 3 I had a minor success. I was able to get the library to allow me to reserve all 13 books.

However as the long list had been announced for 3 days most of those books now have a waiting list of reservations. I fear it may be a multiple book sprint to the finish.

As I explained the challenge to the lovely assistant in the library a slow smile spread across her face. She sent me away with the words “You’re mad! You must love books but you’re mad!”.

She’s right on both counts.

  1. I’m intrigued by you self imposed challenge. There was a feature on Radio 4 over the weekend about how much content of the books the judges are reading can be retained in the memory.

Once you’ve completed the reading it would be great to do a follow up post about what you can remember about the books you’ve read.
