Summer has quickly rolled around and the Pink Picnic is almost upon me.

Too often I’ve heard friends saying that Shrewsbury doesn’t feel like a welcoming place for LGBT people and the tone of some of the letters to the Shropshire Star supports that view. The Pink Picnic is an event to gather LGBT people and their friends and family together at an informal event that celebrates the diversity of community within the beautiful town of Shrewsbury. There’s no specific entertainment lined up, so please bring your own food, drinks and games.
