Witness Appeal After Disorder In Wellington

Via West Mercia Police.

Police in Telford are appealing for witnesses after disorder in Wellington – near the railway station – yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred close to the Station Hotel on Station Road on Thursday 15 November.

Sometime between 3.45pm and 4pm it appears a fight broke out between a number of male youths who had just got off a train.

It seems that the altercation began on a train that travelled from Shifnal to Wellington but that it only became physical when the youths got off the train at Wellington station.

As a result of this incident a number of individuals suffered minor injuries, while at the present time two 16-year-old youths are in custody on suspicion of affray.

Anyone who witnessed the disorder in Wellington, or who may have seen a verbal altercation between a number of youths on the train from Shifnal to Wellington, is asked to contact police in Telford on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident reference number 422S 15112.

Alternatively, please remember that Crimestoppers can be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you’d rather leave information without identifying yourself.
